I just wrapped up my Opel Vectra for a fresh start in 2012.  The original color of the car was a deep dark blue.  To freshen it up, I used dark blue metallic Avery Supreme Wrapping Film on the sides and bumpers.  I then used 3M 1080 on the hood/roof and on the side molding/side mirrors.  For an extra special touch, I applied Avery concept chrome film to the inside scoop of the door handles (the door handles are factory chrome).   The overcast winter Dutch sky don't do the Avery blue metallic film justice.  I haven't got this many oohs and ahhs over a wrap in a long time.  A new wrap is always a great way to start the year. Everyone should get one.

]]> http://www.justinpate.net/blog/2011/11/the-latest-avery-certified-installers/feed/ 0 School of Wrap for 2011 completed http://www.justinpate.net/blog/2011/11/school-of-wrap-for-2011-completed/ http://www.justinpate.net/blog/2011/11/school-of-wrap-for-2011-completed/#comments Mon, 14 Nov 2011 08:51:26 +0000 admin http://www.justinpate.net/blog/?p=811 I have just finished the last 2011 Avery-Mutoh School of Wrap workshop/certification in Seattle.  In the last 2 1/2 weeks I have taught the School of Wrap workshop in Atlanta, Chicago and Seattle.  All the classes were filled with very enthusiastic students eager to learn the art of graphic installations.  What was particularly nice was how quickly they understood my Universal Graphics Installation System (UGIS).  It is amazing how much quicker beginners learn when given a system that is easy to understand and how much faster intermediate installers get.   As always, it was a great pleasure to teach the Avery-Mutoh School of Wrap workshops, particularly when they all sold out (including the 2 added-on workshops).  I would like to give a special thanks to Paul Roba, Linda Ebbinghaus and Todd Hain from Avery-Dennison and Michelle Pugh, Ken Parsley and Brian Phipps from Mutoh for all the help and support.  The 2012 School of Wrap workshops will add an extra day that will focus on design/production that will be taught by Todd LaBrie.   The schedule will be announced shortly.  Below are the group shots from Atlanta, Chicago and Seattle.

I wrapped up my demos for Avery-Dennison at SEMA in Las Vegas on Friday last week.  For the demos, I wrapped a Dodge Challenger with different colors and finishes of Avery Supreme Wrapping Film along with a concept chrome film.  For the set up day, I wrapped the bumper, hood, roof, trunk and back bumper in matte black.  For the show, I wrapped the sides and the hood with different colors each day.  On the first day, I made the sides green, the next dark metallic gray and then the rest of the time I wrapped the hood in metallic red with a chrome accent in the middle.  The crowds were really, really big and extremely receptive to the paintwrap concept.  A special thanks to Paul Roba for helping out during the demos and Todd Hain for setting up my part of the booth.  A special, special thanks to my wife for making it out to the show.  Now I'm in route to Seattle to teach the last School of Wrap workshop for 2011.  The 2012 schedule should be coming out shortly.

Before heading out to the U.S. to teach the latest round of the Avery/Mutoh School of Wrap workshops and to do demos at SEMA in Vegas I wrapped this car in Avery Supreme Wrapping Film - white pearlescent.  Such a beautiful color and it seems to be the new "hot" color in the Netherlands.  Perhaps it will become the new matte black in terms of popularity.  We shall see.
