I'm very happy to announce the 2012 Avery Mutoh School of Wrap Schedule (see below). The workshop has gotten even better than last year. I will teach the 2-day installation portion and Todd LaBrie, owner of Carwraps, will teach design and production on Day 3. Like last year, there will be a generous "gift bag" given to all attendees - tools and either 25 yards of 1005 Easy Apply RS and 1360 DOL or 25 yards of Supreme Wrapping Film - a value of $600! There will still be a certification test on Day 3 that is open to all installers. Everyone who passes the exam will become an Avery Certified Installer and listed on www.carwraps.net - Google's #1 site for car wrap searches. I am also very happy to announce added sponsorship from Crofgate, Onyx and Knifeless Tape.

To sign up and for more information on the 2012 workshops go to: http://na.averygraphics.com/AvGrNA_avery_wrap_school.asp

I have just finished the last 2011 Avery-Mutoh School of Wrap workshop/certification in Seattle. In the last 2 1/2 weeks I have taught the School of Wrap workshop in Atlanta, Chicago and Seattle. All the classes were filled with very enthusiastic students eager to learn the art of graphic installations. What was particularly nice was how quickly they understood my Universal Graphics Installation System (UGIS). It is amazing how much quicker beginners learn when given a system that is easy to understand and how much faster intermediate installers get. As always, it was a great pleasure to teach the Avery-Mutoh School of Wrap workshops, particularly when they all sold out (including the 2 added-on workshops). I would like to give a special thanks to Paul Roba, Linda Ebbinghaus and Todd Hain from Avery-Dennison and Michelle Pugh, Ken Parsley and Brian Phipps from Mutoh for all the help and support. The 2012 School of Wrap workshops will add an extra day that will focus on design/production that will be taught by Todd LaBrie. The schedule will be announced shortly. Below are the group shots from Atlanta, Chicago and Seattle.

I am getting everything in order for the last round of workshops/sign shows for 2012. First up, two Avery/Mutoh School of Wrap workshops in Atlanta and Chicago. Next up will be the Avery Dennison booth at SEMA and then another workshop in Seattle. A busy but good schedule. I believe there are 2 spots left for the workshop in Seattle so if you're interested be sure to sign up quick. Also, stop by the Avery Dennison booth at SEMA to watch my demos. I will be wrapping a Dodge Challenger with a mix of print and paintwrap films. Should be fun.

I finished teaching the Avery-Mutoh School of Wrap in Toronto a few days ago. The 2-day workshop went great. Lots of eager students from Toronto and Ottawa who just dove into the carwrapping process. As always, they wrapped a cargo van from start to finish and worked on two sedans. Lots of door handles, bumpers, mirrors and the like were wrapped over and over. Exciting stuff. Thanks as always to Linda Ebbinghaus and Paul Roba from Avery and for Mutoh printing up such great graphics. A special thanks to Proveer for hosting the event. We actually did the workshop and certification in their showroom which made for a swanky few days.

I am at Schipol Airport in Amsterdam about to head to Toronto to teach an Avery/Mutoh School of Wrap workshop at Proveer headquarters. After the Toronto class I head to Atlanta to teach another School of Wrap workshop then back to Amsterdam. Its always exciting to teach the workshops, especially when they are sold out. I believe that there are two spots remaining for the last workshop of the year in Seattle so if you're interested be sure to sign up quick. We are working on the 2012 schedule and I hope to have it posted shortly. If anyone has any requests as far as locations feel free to email me at: justin@justinpate.net. I think for sure it will be New Jersey, Atlanta, Dallas, LA, Phoenix.

The Avery/Mutoh School of Wrap held at Sign Warehouse in Denison, TX is in the bag. There were 16 people who took the 2-day workshop. It was definitely one of the toastier workshops as there was a heat wave going on (I think for both days it was 110 degrees outside). Even though it was warm, the Avery 1005 Supercast was super easy to apply which amazed the attendees. They were expecting the film to grab the vehicle but they could easily reposition the film. This is a huge advantage for car wrapping, especially in places like Texas. During the workshop the students worked on a conversion van, two sedans and they completely wrapped a Miata in leopard print. Thanks to Deanna from Sign Warehouse for providing the Miata and the ice cream birthday cake (my birthday was on Aug. 3).
