New Jersey Workshops Completed
Both of the Avery/Mutoh School of Wrap workshops at GRS in New Jersey are completed. The workshops were filled with students eager to learn and get some real hands on experience. We had a cargo van and two sedans that they got to practice on. For both workshops, the students completed a cargo van and then delved into bumpers, door handles and other more complicated applications on the sedans. Its nice to have the workshops not only sell out but to have such positive input.
Additional School of Wrap Workshop for New Jersey
I am very happy to announce that an additional workshop has been added to the School of Wrap training program that will be held at GRS in New Jersey. The first workshop sold out in just over a week thus the need for an additional workshop. The dates for the new workshop are: July 26 and 27 (Tuesday and Wednesday). For those of you interested in also taking the Avery certification test it will still take place on July 30 (Saturday).
* Please note that there were 8 people on the waiting list which means that the additional class is already more than half full. There is a maximum of 15 students so I highly recommend signing up asap if you're interested. New Price for DVDs – 3 for $99!
I'm happy to announce there is a new price for the 3 DVD combo pack for the Techniques and Tips instructional DVDs. Now, get all 3 DVDS: Vehicle Graphic Installations, Advanced Wrapping and Speedwrapping for $99 (this includes free shipping anywhere in the world and a squeegee/flexifelt). I made this decision based on the overwhelming response I had to the $99 price at the ISA show and for the latest round of the Avery-Mutoh School of Wrap workshops. Before this price change, the 3 DVD combo sold for $149 and for ISA/workshops I offered a special $99 price.
Together, the 3 "T and T" DVDs clock in at around 6 hours and are essentially a workshop in a box. These DVDs are available at: www.learntowrapcars.com and at Sign Warehouse.
Bye Bye Sweety High Wrap
Last week when I was heading to LAX to catch my flight to Phoenix for the next round of workshops/certification for the Avery-Mutoh School of Wrap I swung by my buddy Frank's house to remove a wrap. In October I had wrapped his girlfriend's BMW with Avery 1005SC Easy Apply RS and 1360 DOL. Frank and his girlfriend run a company called Sweety High which is an online social world for girls. They wanted to try out a carwrap so I had a design made up and the graphics printed by Mutoh on a Valuejet. They drove their new carwrap around LA for a few months and had lots of positive reactions. Actually, the reason I was removing it after only a few months was that it worked too well. The BMW was her private car and there was always a crow around it when they came out of a restaurant or people took their pic while driving on the freeway. They plan on doing another one but this time with a company car. So, next time I am back in LA, Sweety High will be back in the car wrap game so keep an eye out for it.
LA/Phoenix School of Wrap Completed
The latest round of the Avery-Mutoh School of Wrap is in the bag. The first round took place at NuSign in Los Angeles and the second round at Mutoh Headquarters in Phoenix. Both classes were exceptional with students really eager to learn and take it to the next level. When you have students wanting to learn it makes my job that much easier. In both workshops a cargo van was completely wrapped. Its always funny to see their faces when I tell them to remove the wrap as soon as they are done. All that hard work and in 10 minutes its gone. After the vans the students had lots of time to work on the more difficult aspects of wrapping like mirrors, bumpers and door handles. The media used for the workshops was Avery's 1005SC Easy Apply RS with 1360 DOL. As usual, everyone who had not worked with Avery before was blown away by its ease of use, printability and how it conforms so easily to curves. All the media was printed on a Mutoh Valuejet.
As for the Avery Certification Test, 6 people passed. Their names will be announced tomorrow.
The next round of workshops is coming up at the end of July/early August. The workshop at the end of July in New Jersey is almost full so if you are on the east coast I would sign up now before its too late. Go to: http://na.averygraphics.com/AvGrNA_avery_wrap_school.asp
Thanks to NuSign and Mutoh for all their help with the workshops and certification tests and a special thanks to Linda from Avery for being so super duper throughout the workshops. I couldn't have pulled this off on my own, especially with my broken arm.
Great ISA Show in the Avery Booth
I have just arrived in LA after a really successful ISA sign show in Vegas. Thursday thru Saturday I did 3 demos a day for Avery-Dennison. I wrapped different sections of a Ford Transit Connect with Avery 1005SC Easy Apply RS with 1360 DOL. The crowds were nice and big, asking lots of questions about the wrapping process. I always love to see the faces of people when they see how easy Avery film is to reposition in comparison to the other brands out there. As soon as people see how good Avery film looks and installs they switch over. Cool to be a part of. During the show I also did a demo once a day in the Mutoh booth.
Tomorrow I will be teaching the Avery-Mutoh School of Wrap at NuSign in LA and then I'm off to Phoenix to teach it again. Busy busy but very good.
Thanks as always to Paul Roba and the crew from Avery for their help throughout the ISA show.
ISA demos – Las Vegas – April 28-30, 2011
In about 3 weeks I will be doing demos for Avery and Mutoh at the upcoming ISA show in Vegas. For Avery, I will be doing 3 demos a day using their 1005 SC Easy Apply RS and 1360 DOL. The vehicle that will be wrapped this year will be a Ford Transit Connect. A lot of people ask me how to wrap these so what better way to do than at a sign show? I will also be doing one demo a day for Mutoh at their booth. At the show I will also be promoting the Avery-Mutoh School of Wrap. The next round of workshops and certification is coming up at the beginning of May. May 2-4 in Los Angeles and May 5-7 in Phoenix. For info and to sign up go to:
http://na.averygraphics.com/AvGrNA_avery_wrap_school.asp
I will also have my new DVDs on hand for anyone who wants to purchase them at the show. Normally the set of 3 DVDs goes for $149 but, for the show only, they will go for $100.
I hope to see you there.
New Design for DVD Website
I am really excited to announce the totally redesigned www.leanrtowrapcars.com. I have been very fortunate to have been able to work with Alex Donovan from (a)squared studio (www.asquaredstudio.com) on this project. Alex was spot on from the get go which made the whole process much easier than it usually is.
This new site features the two new Techniques and Tips DVDs - Advanced Wrapping and Speedwrapping. It also has detailed info on my Universal Graphic Installation System, the 2011 Avery-Mutoh School of Wrap/Certification program, Squeezy hands-on workshops, new youtube videos and much more. Thanks to Sign Warehouse, Mutoh and NT Cutter for their sponsorship on the new DVDs and website.
Feels like I got a new car without the new car smell.
